How do I change the status of an inventory item in the app?
You change the status of an inventory item in the app in the item's detail view. Tap the three dots in the top right corner and select the desired new status. Don't forget to save the change afterwards.
If you choose "Maintenance", you can optionally enter a planned end date. For quantity inventory and consumables, only "Active" and "Decommissioned" are available.
Custom statuses in the app
If custom inventory statuses are activated for your account, the app supports them from version 10.3:
- The detail view and the lists show the status with its name and color.
- When changing the status, all statuses that are not archived and apply to the inventory type are available. For every status with base status "Maintenance", the app asks for the planned end date.
- In the search, you can also filter by custom statuses using the status chips.
- The app hides actions that the status does not permit, for example assigning or reserving, in the detail view, in the quick actions and when scanning multiple items.
- When an administrator changes the statuses in the system settings, the app picks up the change without a restart.
Older app versions show the base status for custom statuses, for example "Maintenance" instead of "At the calibration lab". To learn how to create custom statuses, see: How do I create custom inventory statuses?
