How do I create a storage?

To create a new storage, click the "Create storage" button. You can specify the following:

• the name and description of the storage
• optionally, a location that has already been created
• storage staff who are authorized to issue and take back inventory

You can also define the storage as a self-withdrawal storage. Any user can then withdraw inventory without approval. This setting can also be restricted to specific persons.

Once you have assigned a location to a storage, you will see it wherever the storage is displayed or selected:

• The storage overview has a Location column. You can filter and sort the table by it. Storages without a location show a dash there.
• The storage detail view shows the location below the storage name.
• In all storage selection fields, for example when creating inventory, consumables or sets, when changing storage, in reservations, procedures and reports, the location appears in parentheses after the storage name, such as "Main storage (Munich)". This lets you reliably tell apart storages with the same name at different locations. If you type the location's name into the selection field, you will also find the matching storage.

Storages without an assigned location only show their name in selection fields.
