Start Guide for the Web Application

Welcome to Inventory ONE! This guide walks you through setting up the web application step by step — from your first receivers to your first assignment.

1. Create receivers and users

Start by creating receivers and users.

  • Navigate to the receivers overview and click "Create Receiver".
  • Select the appropriate receiver type (e.g., user, employee, external person), fill in the required fields, and save the new receiver.
  • Repeat the process to create users. Make sure to set a role (e.g., administrator, employee) for each user.

2. Define storages

Once your receivers and users are in place, define your storages.

  • Go to the storage overview and click "Create Storage".
  • Enter a name and description for the storage. Optionally, you can assign a location if one already exists.
  • Then assign users: open the storage details, navigate to the "User Assignment" section, and add the users who should have access to the storage.

3. Create inventory

Now you are ready to create your inventory.

  • Go to the inventory overview and click "Create Inventory".
  • Fill in the creation form and make sure to complete all required fields.

Tip: Do you already have your inventory in an Excel spreadsheet? Save the file as .csv, click on the importer, and follow the instructions to upload it. Learn more: How can I import inventory?

4. Assign inventory

After creating your inventory, you can assign it to the appropriate receivers.

  • Select the desired inventory item in the inventory overview and click "Assign".
  • Choose the receiver, adjust the quantity if needed, and confirm the assignment.

5. Monitoring and management

That completes the basic setup. From here, you can:

  • manage inventory (edit, delete, etc.),
  • create and manage reservations,
  • generate reports and monitor the status of receivers and stock levels.
