How do I take back multiple inventory items?

You can take back several inventory items in one step:

  1. In the overview table, select all the inventory items you want to take back.
  2. Click "Take Back" in the table header — a window with all selected inventory items opens.
  3. Adjust the quantity if needed.
  4. Optional: In the "Change storage" section below the table, tick the checkbox to rebook all items to a different storage when taking them back, then choose the target storage. An info box there explains what happens, and the "Storage" column in the table shows the rebooking as "previous storage → new storage". For quantity inventory and consumables, you choose directly in the row which storage the stock is booked back to.
  5. Optional: Add up to 5 images per inventory item in the "Pictures from the recipient" column — for example, to document the condition at return. The images are saved in the booking history with the respective inventory item.
  6. Click "Save" to complete the return.

Good to know:

  • If you choose a storage other than the one currently assigned, the inventory items are rebooked to that storage during the return. A note in the window reminds you of this.
  • Only administrators and storage managers who are assigned as responsible users for both the current and the new storage can rebook items. Only storages you are responsible for are offered as targets.
  • A return can only contain inventory items of one recipient. If you selected items of different recipients, the window shows a message — remove the entries of the other recipients.
  • One shared entry is created in the booking history for the whole return; the target storage is saved per inventory item.
